A new tool to deepen your skills

We are working on a set of sophisticated, industry-specific workbooks for writers to practice their skills on. You’ll be able to choose between workbooks in your field, for example, engineering reports, and workbooks that develop specific skills. All of them follow the principles we teach.

Build what you learned into

What people learn in our workshops is a significant habit change. People often ask us what they can do to keep up momentum after training. So we created these workbooks as an accessible way to keep building skills.

Practice to become perfect—Coming in 2026

Workbooks are just the beginning

Our plan is to create:

  • complementary mini online courses, so you can choose the medium that works best for you

  • a certification exam you can take to prove your knowledge in each of the principles

About the workbooks

Our workbooks are designed to supplement our courses and build you progressively towards mastery

  • One principle at a time—Each focuses on a single ISO plain language principle. It will refresh the theory and include many, many exercises.

  • Choose your own focus—Start with the principles you find most inspiring or challenging.

  • Practice with real-world examples—Exercises draw from common workplace documents in a variety of industries. We will also have options to customize them using your team’s documents if you want to offer them more broadly.

  • Progressive difficulty—Exercises start easy and get progressively harder until we get to complex content and real-world struggles.

  • Self-paced and flexible—Teams and individuals can use them as part of ongoing training, onboarding, or personal development.
